The Barakum Bar, first master casts

Hi guys,

As promise i am here to deliver the pictures of the first master casts from the campaign. There are only three done so far, but more are on their way to the mould making table.

First up we have the Corsypti Colony. The body will be cast in Polyurethane resin, and the head will be cast in white metal.

You may notice some air bubbles around the growth at the back of the head. This has since been fixed with a vent being cut into the mould.

Next up, we have the Elsor-Varo trooper in light armour. As it stands at the moment it is planned that he will be cast in resin, except for his sword and scabbard. However, i may make the miniature a full metal miniature due to the thin nature of the weapon hand. Some testing needs to be done before i decide which way to go though.

You can see in this picture that the wrist looks a little week. It seems to be quite strong, but may be better in metal, or at least the weapon being replaced with a metal one. We will see.

Last, but by no means least, we have the Aleka miniature cast up and ready to go. This was one that i was personally looking forward to as it was a fun model to make.

The necklace with the sharks teeth on didn't need any tidying up done to it in the end. It cast up perfectly fine.

The hook charming hanging from her waist is a little detail i had to add.

The battle club was something different to what you would normally see on a lot of Sci-fi models, but think of it as some form of powered club or electric baton of sorts,

Its been good to see some of the miniatures take shape as an actual model, not just the original sculpt. It kind of makes it a bit more ‘real’ for me. It’s a sense that things are moving forward, i guess you could say.

So, tomorrow the Hunter, Honour Guard heads and the Mechanical Upgrade set get put into boxes ready for silicone to be added. I will also continue casting the bits to go to the casters.

For now, that’s it guys. I will try and keep the updates more regular.

Cheers

John
